Stories are powerful because they inspire people to think and act, since, it doesn’t only appeal to their logic, but emotions as well.
There is a strong temptation to be ungrateful to society due to its imperfection, but we must exercise gratitude because society lays the foundation for the order (law, commerce, democracy, etcetera) and whatever privileges we enjoy (including access to clean water, the internet, education, and even the “peace” we enjoy).
People are conscious of what they are associated with, many people don’t want to be seen demanding money all the time because they don’t want to appear greedy and selfish, many don’t want to be heard talking about sex all the time because they don’t want to appear immoral, and so is the attitude towards several other matters.
The role of money in society is so great it is staggering. Money is an integral part of everything we do, it takes different forms and functions in subtle ways, but at the end its role is unshakeable.
