ll of king Solomon’s teachings has a subtle way of reminding the reader that the way a person thinks is more important than what is being thought of. This is seen as he almost completely breaks down emotionally in the Ecclesiastes, saying that everything is the same and everyone experiences the same thing generation after generation with the only difference being what is being chased after.

I once read in a book (Venus in furs) where it was said that a single slap from a petit lady would drive a point a hundred lectures couldn’t. Although I am an advocate for vicarious knowledge, I do understand that first-hand experience can lead to a more intense understanding of the subject matter (as emotions are invoked on a much deeper level)
